How we decide

Most comparison sites ask you to trust a verdict. We would rather hand you the math and let you check it.

What this site actually is

EasyChoosing builds decision tools: calculators, cost breakdowns, and side-by-side comparisons for choices that are expensive and confusing. The output of a tool is arithmetic performed on published figures. That is a deliberately narrow promise, and it is one we can keep.

It also sets a boundary. We are not a hands-on product review site. We do not have a lab. When a question can only be answered by living with a product for six months, that question is out of scope, and we will say so on the page rather than bluff.

Where the numbers come from

• Primary sources first. Published pricing pages, official documentation, regulatory filings, and public rate tables — not a competitor's summary of them.
• Every figure is cited. If a number appears in a tool, the page says where it came from and when we last checked it.
• Assumptions are stated, not hidden. Every model needs assumptions. Ours are written on the page in plain language, and where it matters we let you change them.
• Formulas are published. You can see the calculation, not just its result.

How the tools are built

We use AI assistance to research sources, structure data, and build these tools. We think that is worth stating plainly rather than dressing up as a newsroom. What matters is whether the output is correct and checkable, so that is what we optimize for: cited inputs, visible formulas, and results you can reproduce by hand if you want to.

What we do not do is generate a fake human expert to vouch for it. EasyChoosing is published as a site, not as a person with an invented résumé. If you see a claim of personal experience anywhere on this site, it is a bug — report it.

What we get wrong

Two failure modes, honestly:

• Staleness. Providers change prices without notice. A tool accurate in March can be wrong in June. Check the "last verified" date, and confirm with the provider before you spend money.
• Model simplification. A calculator captures the main drivers of a decision, not every edge case. Unusual situations — odd tax treatment, grandfathered plans, regional rules — can move the answer in ways our model does not see.

Money
